Alta Fixsler was born on 23 December 2018 and was Killed by the UK Doctors on October 18 2021 The case of Alta Fixsler, a young Jewish girl in the UK whose parents fought to keep her on life support against the wishes of British doctors and courts, had a significant impact on the Jewish community around the world. Here's how:

* Heightened Awareness of Religious Freedom and Medical Ethics: The case brought to the forefront the clash between secular medical ethics (specifically, the "best interests" principle in UK law) and deeply held religious convictions regarding the sanctity of life. For many in the Jewish community, particularly Orthodox and Hasidic Jews, every life is considered precious and the withdrawal of life support is strictly prohibited unless there is no possibility of preserving life. This sparked extensive discussion and debate within Jewish communities globally about their rights to make medical decisions for their children in accordance with their faith.

* International Mobilization and Advocacy: The Jewish community rallied significantly around the Fixsler family. This included:

* Rabbinic Support: The Court of the Chief Rabbi of Great Britain and the Chief Rabbi of Israel confirmed that the Fixslers' Jewish faith prohibited ending Alta's life by denying her life support.

* Political Appeals: Israeli Prime Minister Reuven Rivlin appealed to Prince Charles, and numerous members of the US Congress, including Senator Chuck Schumer, also advocated for Alta's parents.

* Community Activism: Petitions were circulated, and individuals and organizations within the Jewish community worldwide worked to raise awareness and support the family's legal battle, including efforts to transfer Alta to hospitals in Israel or the United States where her care could continue.

* Concerns about "Best Interests" vs. Parental/Religious Rights: The court's ruling, which stated that it could not "assume" Alta would share her parents' Orthodox faith and that her "best interests" should be determined objectively by doctors, deeply concerned many in the Jewish community. This was seen by some as a dangerous precedent that could undermine parental authority and religious freedom in medical decision-making for children, particularly in cases where the child is too young to express their own beliefs. The idea that a secular court could essentially overrule deeply held religious convictions of parents was a source of great distress.

* Focus on the Value of Life in Jewish Thought: The case served as a powerful reminder of the paramount importance of preserving life (Pikuach Nefesh) in Jewish law. The efforts to keep Alta alive, even in severe medical circumstances, reflected this core tenet and resonated with many Jews who believe that every moment of life has intrinsic value.

* Frustration with Legal System Limitations: Despite the overwhelming support and advocacy, the legal appeals in the UK and even to the European Court of Human Rights were unsuccessful. This left many in the Jewish community feeling frustrated and disappointed by the perceived inability of legal systems to adequately account for religious beliefs in sensitive medical situations.

In essence, the Alta Fixsler case became a focal point for the global Jewish community to articulate and defend its values regarding the sanctity of life, parental rights, and religious freedom in the face of differing secular legal and medical perspectives. It highlighted the challenges of navigating deeply personal and faith-driven decisions within a pluralistic society.

Her parents, Avrum and Chaya, are symbols of heroism and inspiration who stood firm and strong against an entire system the NHS, now is the time to create something in Alta’s memory,
