A Call from the Depths – To Help Save a Precious and Noble Young Man

"And it shall be, when you say to us — we will do good unto you..."

We turn to you with trembling hearts, in pain and heartfelt pleading, on behalf of one of the beloved members of our Beis Medrash — a distinguished young Torah scholar, a true G-d-fearing man, adorned with noble character traits and a heart of pure gold. His life is a shining tapestry of kindness, humility, devotion to others, and sincere Yiras Shamayim (fear of Heaven).

This cherished individual, beloved by people and cherished by Heaven, has been enduring immense physical and emotional suffering for many years — unbearable hardship that began with the terrible illness of diabetes. Over time, his condition deteriorated, and tragically, one of his legs began to deteriorate, to the point of necrosis, Heaven forbid.

For the past five years, he has gone from doctor to doctor, from specialist to surgeon, clinging to every thread of hope to save his leg, to preserve his life, and to protect his soul. Yet, every effort has been in vain — and with one voice, all the physicians have declared, with heavy hearts: the leg must be amputated.

Who can possibly fathom the depth of pain, the abyss of despair, the darkness that has fallen upon his home, his devoted wife, and his young children?

And yet — like a ray of light breaking through the night — a glimmer of hope has appeared. A rare medical expert has now offered real hope: he believes he can save the leg through a complex and innovative surgical procedure. But alas — this surgery is not covered by insurance and must be paid for in full, out of pocket. The cost is astronomical, and completely beyond the means of this young man — whose household has no source of income, and whose family’s basic needs remain unmet.

His fate — quite literally — lies in our hands.

Shall we stand by in silence? Can we turn away, when it is still possible to help, still possible to save?

Therefore, we call out to kind and compassionate hearts, to our dear brothers and sisters whose love for their fellow Jews beats strongly within them:

Come be messengers of mercy, of hope, of salvation!

Extend your hand. Open your heart. Offer your support.

Save his leg — and in truth, save his very life, and the future of his entire family.

"One who has mercy on others — will be shown mercy from Heaven."

Let us be among those who show mercy — and merit that the same will be done for us.
