You see, for Ruti the answer is no…

For the last three months due to unexpected complications from a minor surgery Ruti is struggling to eat and digest her food.

Ruti, is currently on a feeding tube.

THREE MONTHS AGO:

On a Sunday evening Ruti opened a can of chic peas she was intending to use for a salad she was preparing for lunch.

She accidently lost her grip on the can opener and her right hand swiped against the sharp freshly cut metal.

She got an awful cut and was rushed to the hospital to have it stitched. That is when Ruti was informed that the cut tore through a tendon and will need to be repaired surgically.

THE SURGERY:

Ten days later Ruti was admitted to the hospital for what was meant to be an outpatient procedure. The surgery itself was successful. However, she had complications waking up. She couldn’t stand up or let alone walk. She was feeling faint and extremely weak. The doctors thought it would resolve shortly but to their shock things went from bad to worse. After some testing they discovered that Ruti had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and her stomach muscles became very weak causing her to struggle intensely when eating or eliminating. They put her on a feeding tube temporarily and recommended she sees a specialist that has expertise in waking up the nerves in her digestive system.

THERE IS HOPE:

With hashems help Ruti can fully recover. There is a special treatment that is meant to revive the sleepy nerves. Her family would love to go ahead and schedule this life-giving treatment.

It is never comfortable to ask others for financial support. But there is no other choice. Ruti deserves to heal, and we can’t allow personal discomfort to be in the way.
